With Things in Three, I set out to simply take still-life photographs of things I found around my house. I knew I wanted to use stark, hard light with a plain background, but beyond that, the choice of objects was arbitrary. The only constraint I put on my choices was that there needed to be three of something, be they alike or in a set. My choice of light and background was to allow the things themselves to be seen clearly, with their own contours, textures, and blemishes, devoid of context except for perhaps a few supporting elements. Little stands between the viewer and the objects, but that is not to say there is no perspective, which I hope comes through, along with perhaps a little humor.
